Child's Play: Tales and Crafts
Child's Play: Tales and Crafts at the Anderson Barn History Center is a great summer activity for children. Organized by teacher and long-time Ephraim Historical Foundation member Barbara Fox, this fun reading activity is designed for children, grandchildren, and visiting friends ages 4-8.
Four sessions take place over the summer from the beginning of July through the beginning of August, on Thursdays at 10:30 am at the Anderson Barn History Center. Children read a book and then participate in a fun craft based on the book.
Dates for the 2008 Child's Play Series are:
Tuesday, July 1 -- Book: Grandma Drove the Garbage Truck, Craft: 4th of July Sun Visors
Tuesday, July 15 -- Book: Trouble with Trolls, Craft: Summer Trolls
Tuesday, July 29 -- Book: Pele and the Rivers of Fire, Craft: Palm Tree Centerpiece
Tuesday, August 5 -- Book: Berlioz the Bear, Craft: Bears with therometers
Advance registration for Child's Play is encouraged, as many sessions fill up quickly. The cost to attend is $5/child, and can be paid either in advance or when the child arrives at the session that morning. The sessions last approximately one hour.
