Join us for our Child’s Play Summer Reading program. The 2021 theme is Tails & Tales and will feature books about animals, tall tales and fairy tales. This is a collaborative program between the Ephraim Historical Foundation and the Ephraim Branch of the Door County Library.
Stories, activities and a healthy snack included.
This program is limited to 20 children per week so that we may maintain safe social distance, per CDC recommendations. Please reserve space for your children each week that you plan to have them attend. Recommended for ages 4-10.
July 8: Tall Tales 10 am-11:15 am at the Anderson Barn, 3060 Anderson Lane- Ephraim.
This week will feature “Johnny Appleseed-A Tall Tale Retold” by Steven Kellogg, “Annie Oakley” by Eric Blair and “Shark Lady” by Jess Keating.
July 15: An Animal Tail 10 am-11:15 am at the Pioneer Schoolhouse, Moravia Street- Ephraim
“Lighthouse Mouse” and “Eagle Bluff Lighthouse” by Sue Jarosh, our guest author.
July 22: Animal Tails 10 am-11:15 am at the Anderson Barn, 3060 Anderson Lane- Ephraim
“Look to the North, A Wolf Pup Diary” by Jean Craighead George, “Ragweed’s Farm Dog Handbook” by Ann Vittur Kennedy.
July 29: Bear Tales 10 am-11:15 am at the Anderson Barn, 3060 Anderson Lane- Ephraim
“Mother Bruce” by Ryan T. Higgins and “The Legend of the Teddy Bear” by Frank Murphy.
Each week will feature activities and snack to go along with the books.
Child’s Play is a free program, but donations are greatly appreciated to help off-set the cost of materials. Thank you for your support!

All Ephraim Historical Foundation staff and volunteers participating in this event have been vaccinated. Our volunteers will wear masks when they are close to children, however, they will remove the masks when reading stories. Since most children have not been vaccinated, we ask that all children who are participating wear masks during the event.
