Kelly Klobucher has over a decade of executive leadership in museums and non-profit organizations. She most recently served as the Executive Director for the Illinois Association of Museums. IAM provides education, collaboration opportunities and advocacy for people who work in museums across the state of Illinois.
Her prior museum work involved managing the preservation, programming, marketing and interpretation of a National Historic Landmark in Illinois.
She regularly speaks at state and national museum conferences on finding innovative ways to market museums, using social media to change perceptions, building community through history, strategically using programs to be inclusive and attractive to new audiences and engage people online. She also speaks on non-profit governance, managing boards, volunteers, staff and multiple projects.
In 2016, Klobucher was chosen as one of sixteen museum professionals from all across the country to participate in the prestigious Seminar for Historical Administration, (now called the History Leadership Institute) offered by the American Association for State and Local History.
Klobucher is a graduate of Illinois State University, is a Not For Profit Certified professional and a Certified Tourism Ambassador for Door County.
Through out her career she has lead and served on many boards and committees related to museum work, historic preservation, economic development, and tourism.
A self proclaimed history and non-profit nerd, in her spare time she enjoys visiting museums and historic sites, traveling, gardening and photographing people, places, desserts, and her cat Pixie.
