Walking Tours
We offer four different topics for our Roots of Our Village walking tours. Each tour is unique and shares a different part of Ephraim history. Scroll to read the descriptions of each tour and reserve your spot!
Iverson House and Moravian Church
Tour the Iverson House and the Ephraim Moravian Church. Approximately 60 minutes. Learn how Norwegian Moravian immigrants sought economic opportunity and helped build a community in the context of a rapidly changing American landscape (1853-1890). Look inside Ephraim’s historic Moravian church then tour its oldest frame building, the Iverson House. While enjoying stories of Ephraim Village’s early days in the Iverson House.
Accessibility Church is accessible. The Iverson House has two step-ups through doorways. Less than a 1/8 mile between buildings, with two sloping pathways.

Park on Moravia Street or behind the Moravian Church.
Goodletson Cabin and Bethany Lutheran Church
Tour the Goodletson Cabin and Bethany Lutheran Church. Approximately 60 minutes. Look inside a cozy log cabin that once stood on Horseshoe Island, inhabited by a family with nine children. Discover how the Goodletsons and other immigrant friends of Ephraim’s Moravian founders helped establish the village as well as their own church. See Bethany’s lovely interior, appearing quite like it did when the church was first built 141 years ago.
Accessibility Church is accessible. The Goodletson cabin requires climbing a set of wooden stairs to reach the entrance. Less than a 1/8 mile between buildings, with two sloping pathways.

Morning Walk from Anderson Dock
By learning about the Anderson family (circa 1860 - 1950) we’ll discover the history of Ephraim’s early days. This casual, less than a mile stroll starts at the water’s edge then brings visitors up wooded Anderson Lane. Door County stories with a dash of nature featured.

Morning Walk from Olga Dana Green
This mile-long “loop” walking tour answers questions like who was Olga Dana? And, which nearby buildings did notable architect William Bernhard design? Also included - a jaunt up to Moravia St to view the Niagara Escarpment and identify a few seasonal wildflowers.
